Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters) drop to Hotel

Upon reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our ground staff will welcome you. Afterwards, you will hop into our transportation and be guided to your hotel located in Thamel. Later on, we will have a meeting with our hiking guide in the evening who will be joining you for the hike.

Day 2 Drive to Chamje (1750meters)

The morning of your second day starts with a satisfying breakfast served at the hotel. Afterwards, you will get into your vehicle and travel west from the outskirts of Kathmandu. We will be traveling on the Prithvi Highway, alongside the Trishuli River basin.

Mugling, a well-known transit point where Trishuli and Marsyangdi River meet, lies 100 kilometers to the west of Kathmandu. After this point, we will cross the Trishuli River and continue west for 28 kilometers until we reach Dumre. The path splits and heads north from Dumre, leading us to Besisahar after a 2-hour drive beside the Marsyangdi River. The path transitions to a rough, dirt road with patches of rocks and bumps. We journey for 65 kilometers on the unpaved road until we reach Chamje, our initial destination on the hike.

Chamje is a tiny village situated in the Manang district, situated directly next to the fast-flowing river Marsyangdi. Chame is also a well-liked place to begin the Annapurna circuit trek

Day 3 Trek to Dharapani (1970 meters) 5 hours

The trek begins at Chamje, starting your adventure on the first day. After we finish a satisfying breakfast at the teahouse, we begin our trek. Just moments after starting our hike, we crossed the Marsyangdi River on a suspension bridge, which could be a new experience for some. As you walk onto the bridge, it trembles beneath you. About an hour into our hike, we reach Tal village located on the riverbank. Along this part of the path, you will come across stunning views like blue waters, mani walls decorated with sacred writings and symbols, elegant horses and mules, tiny chhortens (Buddhist shrines), and prayer wheels encouraging tranquil reflection.

The landscape in this region features mostly easy slopes with sporadic gradual increases in elevation. Most of our route runs parallel to the level fields of the Marsyangdi river basin as it winds its way through delightful villages. You will arrive at Dharapani in the evening, where we will spend the night sleeping peacefully. Dharapani acts as a major intersection for both the popular Manaslu Circuit Trek and Annapurna Circuit Trek trails.

Day 4 Trek to Koto (2600m)

Our hike on the fourth day begins with a pleasant walk by the river, going through the lovely village of Dharapani. Following a short trek, we reach a junction where the trail turns direction to the north leading to Himlung Himal Base Camp. In our ongoing exploration next to the Marsyangdi River, this installment brings us to Koto village near Chame village, close to Manang district headquarters.

It is predicted that the complete journey will last around 6-7 hours. At first, we journey along a rough path with a flat texture until we arrive at Bagarchhap. Starting from that point, the path steeply goes up among rocky hillsides and passes through narrow corridors formed by the river’s current. During our journey, we pass over numerous suspension bridges and take breaks in beautiful villages like Lata Marang and Danagyu, until we reach Koto.

Koto can be found where the Marsyangdi River and Nar Khola meet, both of which come from a glacier near Nar village. We stop at the teahouse in Koto to stay overnight.

Day 5 Trek to Meta/ Methang (3560m)

Today’s trekking route takes a different path from the strong Marsyangdi River and goes in a northern direction through Nar River’s basin. We traverse the suspension bridge spanning the Marsyangdi River and trek along the path leading to the Nar and Phu villages.

We arrive at Nar Phu Khola campsite (2900) after trekking for around an hour, where we traverse the wooden bridge that spans the Nar river, connecting both riverbanks. The path we take begins to climb slowly through the valley of the river.

Our path crosses this river repeatedly throughout this journey. Kangaru Himal(6981m) is located to the west of our path and there are many streams that start from the glacier of this mountain. We will be entertained by a massive waterfall that signals the beginning of Singenge Dharmshala at an elevation of 3230 meters.

This is the penultimate stop before arriving at Meta. We climb steeply for more than an hour starting from this point. Before arriving at Koto, there is a steep 300-meter ascent along the trail. Once you arrive at Methang, you will experience the unique atmosphere of a Himalayan village.

Methang is the starting point for the journey to Kangaru Himal Base camp. We spend the night at a teahouse in Methang.

Day 6 Trek to Kyang (3820m)

Traveling from Methang to Kyang follows the simple path along the Himalayan River basin. After a one-hour walk, we arrived at Nar Phedi from Meta for the first time. Labse and Phu Khola meet at this intersection.

We follow the path along the Phu River and make our way northwards by climbing up. After a gradual ascent that lasted for 2 hours, we finally arrive at Junam Goth. In this area, you will come across a river that begins in the eastern massifs of Kangaru Himal.

We continue climbing higher through Lowe Chyako and Upper Chyako before reaching Kyang for our overnight stay. Kyang is seated on a level farmland situated next to the river. From Kyang, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Chulu Mountains, including Chulu East (6429m), Chulu West (6418m), Chulu Central (6584m), and more.

Day 7 Trek to Phu (4080m)

The path today is full of slight inclines that result in slow ascents along the Phu River. Phu village and the entire Manang region are part of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).

Blue Sheep have been frequently spotted along this part of the trek. Additionally, the route between Kyang and Phu includes hazardous rocky landscapes. After passing Kyang, you will encounter multiple landslide zones. After a 5-hour journey, we arrived at Phu village and stopped for the night.

Day 8 Exploration day in Phu.

Phu Village is unlike any other village you would encounter during your journey. Located against the Kangla Himal backdrop, this village emits a rural atmosphere reminiscent of years gone by. The unique appeal of the area is enhanced by the mud houses piled one on top of the other.

The Phu village’s surroundings are abundant with meadows and lush green fields next to the Phu River. Phu village serves as the entrance to Himlung Base Camp. Nearby is the Kyauchyu Water Fall, a breathtaking waterfall with its water glimmering and shimmering in the sunlight.

2 major Buddhist monasteries can be found in the vicinity. Thashi Gompa can be found on the northern bank of the river, while Samdu Choling Monastery is situated at the western edge of the village. The region is abundant with ancient mud-made chhortens and prayer flags, contributing to a lively ambiance.

You will be guided to observe their typical settlement pattern in a managed house. On your day off in Phu, we can go on a walk to a close hill station to get a clearer look at the Annapurna massifs and Lamjung Himal. Rural community.

Day 9 Trek to Check via Phu Pass (5050m)

Starting at Phu village, the path goes up through the tiny settlements across the river. Hospitals, call centers, post offices, and other modern amenities are present on the opposite side.

Our journey begins in Phu village as we make our way towards Phu Pass. It requires approximately three hours to arrive at Phu Pass at an altitude of 5050 meters. After that, we begin our steep descent trip.

After two hours of going down from Phu Pass, we arrive at Check situated by the shore of Loha River. We are spending the night at a teahouse in Check.

Day 10 Trek to Nar (4110m)

The Loha River is situated amidst Nar Pass and Phu Pass. It functions as a central gorge between the two elevated passes. From Check, we begin our ascent towards Nar pass and reach the summit of the pass in 3 hours.

The sight from Nar Pass is stunning. You will witness the gleaming Annapurna Mountains surrounding you from every direction. Our descent begins from Nar pass, passing through the snow dome and glacial moraines along the way.

Upon reaching the base of the pass, we encounter a second river named the Labse River. 2 hours later, we arrive at the crowded village of Na.

Day 11 Trek to Manang Via Kangla Pass (5300m.)

The trail for today loops around the foothills of Kangla Himal. It flows through the narrow streams that start at the top of Kangla Peak. Today’s trail has a steep incline with many switchback ascents.

We ascend over 1000 meters to arrive at Kangla Pass, the pinnacle of today’s hike. We arrive at Kangla Phedi before starting the journey towards the summit of the pass.

The journey to the summit of the pass requires a lot of effort. Kangla Phedi is well-known for the rare snow leopard that is sometimes spotted there. We arrive at the pass that offers stunning vistas of Chulu, Annapurna, and other mountain ranges.

A tiny cafe sits atop the mountain pass, operating solely from July through September. Our journey begins as we descend from the summit of the pass. The path leading from the mountain pass is dry and barren, with patches of grass in certain areas. The narrow pathway known as Yak’s Row is this trail.

There are no tea shops along this part of the route. We will continue our descent for an additional 3-4 hours until we arrive at Manang village where we will spend the night.

Day 12 Explore day at Manang

After crossing a suspension bridge over Ghyanchang Khola, we start our steep ascent on the trail. The path is arid and ascends towards Gunsang. Before reaching Yak Kharka for the night, we walk past a mani wall located on the trail.

We commence our ascent early in the morning from Yak Kharka on our trek. We accompany Kone Khola as it passes through multiple landslides located in the region.

You must be extremely cautious when completing this trek. Normally, wild animals cause stones to frequently fall from above. Nevertheless, the path is peaceful with delightful glimpses of Annapurna mountain ranges glistening in the southern direction. We traverse a suspension bridge spanning Kone Khola. The path climbs steeply in a northern direction towards High Camp.

Nevertheless, we will enjoy a hot meal at Thorung Phedi before proceeding on to High Camp.

We gradually approach our nighttime destination at High Camp. Prepare to be astounded by the breathtaking sights of Thorung Peak, Tilicho Peak, Purukung Himal, and several other mountains.

Day 15 Trek to Muktinath via Thorung La Pass (5416m)

Today, we will encounter the toughest stage of our journey as we depart Yak Kharka. The start is delayed because of the increased elevation. After that, snow covers the trail during the winter season. You should heed the advice given by your guide.

Furthermore, there is a high probability of AMS occurring in this region. Please walk steadily and remember to drink water from time to time. We keep switching back until we reach Thorung-La Pass, considered the highest pass globally. The environment is vibrant and decorated with Buddhist Prayer flags all around.

We descend from Thorung La Pass on a rocky trail that winds around the base of Thorung Peak, reaching Small tea houses (Seasonable open Lodge) an hour before Muktinath after three hours of descent.
