Enjoy lunch while keeping your possessions in your one-person tent. Our team will set up a kitchen tent for you and the other climbers so that they may prepare nutritious meals. After lunch in the dining tent, which has chairs and a table, you will participate in pre-climb training as well as practice rappelling and belaying under the supervision of our professional guide.

It is advised to get to bed early because you will need to wake up around midnight to prepare for your summit push. Overnight stay in a tent camp.

Day 3 Climb to High Camp (5,500m/18,040ft) - 3 to 4 hours

  • Duration: 3 to 4 hours.
  • Accommodation at the highest altitude of 5,500m (18,040ft).Tea House

This day can also be referred to as an acclimatisation day before climbing to the summit because it will be very straightforward, with only a few hours spent climbing to high camp. You will progressively ascend a steep hill, and finally at the top, you must negotiate a tough rocky trail to reach Island Peak’s high camp. It is a small campground with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. You’ll have enough time to get a good night’s sleep and prepare for the climb tomorrow.

Stay overnight in a tent camp in High Camp.

Day 4 Island Peak Summit (6,189m/20,306ft) and back to Chhukung - 8-9 hrs

  • Duration: 8-9 hours
  • Highest altitude: 6,189m/20,306ft
  • Accommodation: Tea House

In utter darkness, you collect your possessions and follow your leader. You carry a packed lunch, water, a camera, any trinkets you want to leave at the summit, and some edible food in your daypack. Getting an early start is critical because you need to reach the summit before the afternoon wind comes up and the clouds sweep in. The mountain becomes incredibly windy and foggy as the day progresses.

You spend nearly three hours scrambling up a rocky terrain to reach Crampon Point. The place is known as Crampon Point since it is where you put on your crampons. From 5700 metres on, the group walks across man-rope-secured snow and ice terrain. You get to Imja Glacier’s base by trekking up a short ridge. Take in the stunning sunrise across the peaks of Ama Dablam, Mera, Makalu, Baruntse, Chamlang, and other mountains. Because of the slope’s gradient, which runs from 45 to 50 degrees, the ascent is not particularly difficult or complex. Our guides adjust the ropes on the glacier. As you approach the summit of Island Peak, Lhotse appears closer.

The most difficult aspect of the climb is the tough ascent up a vertical wall just before the peak. By securing and releasing your harness, you can ascend the anchor points. Use ladders to get through crevasses. Depending on the weather, there could be one or two crevasses along the path.

You walk along the ridgeline, clinging onto the fixed rope and taking in the scenery until you reach the peak. After celebrating your accomplishment and taking photographs at the peak, you return to the starting point along the same route. The descent to base camp is long and hard. Keep your eyes alert and continue with caution, as most accidents occur when you drop. Celebrate your accomplishment as you arrive at Base Camp and enjoy some refreshments.

After a short break, return to Chhukung to eat excellent traditional food and relax for the day. Stay overnight in a teahouse in Chhukung.

Always save a spare day for unexpected situations. If your summit push is delayed due to severe weather, illness, or injury, this day will be used. If all goes as planned, this mission might be finished in four days.
