We go very briefly today to Lobuche Base Camp, which is located at 4,900 metres (16,076 feet). Our tents are set up to the lake, offering breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and the neighbouring peaks. Following a delicious lunch upon arrival, you will inspect all of the climbing gear and engage in some afternoon training. You’ll check that your harness, crampons, Jumar, and other climbing gear are adjusted and prepared for usage. This is an excellent day to recuperate and replenish your fluids before ascending farther.
Upon waking up this morning in this breathtaking lake setting, we will eat breakfast, and then, once we have loaded all of our gear, we will make our journey to Lobuche Peak High Camp. High Camp may typically be reached in a period of four hours. We shall go down the path that leads to Gokyo, starting with Ama Dablam and ending with Cholatse dominating the horizon.
We leave the Gokyo trail and continue in the direction of the north. First, the path is not difficult, but then it becomes steep as we climb 450 metres (1,476 feet) to reach High Camp. As we make our way up to High Camp, we take our time and move gently. As we recuperate and get ready for our effort to reach the peak, we set up camp next to another lake.
In the event that the weather permits, we might attempt to reach the peak. Our objective is to get out at one in the morning and make the journey up to Crampon point, which is 5,700 metres or 18,700 feet, in a leisurely manner. The rocky ascent is really steep in many areas, and there are some fixed lines to help keep you safe. After we have reached the crampon point, we will make our way up the mountain in an Alpine fashion until we reach our fixed lines.
Our crew of Sherpas will be responsible for repairing our own ropes as we ascend the steep terrain all the way to the peak. In most cases, the journey to the peak takes between three and four hours. Once we are finished partying, we will begin the arduous journey back to Lobuche.
