We are off on our first day of trekking to the top of Mera Peak. Both foreigners and many locals will cross our route today. We will arrive to stunning woodland pathways with pine and rhododendron trees after some time of walking from Lukla. Our path is beneath the Nau Lekh. Another name for it is Kalo Himal Ridge. We are going to arrive in Chutanga after several more hours of walking. It’s a great area to visit in the spring and is well-known for its summer pastures. Stay at Chuntaga for the night.

We will eventually arrive to lovely woodland trails with pine and rhododendron trees after leaving Lukla. We’re strolling beneath the Nau Lekh. Kalo Himal Ridge is another name for it. We will arrive at Chutanga after a few more hours of walking. It’s a well-liked location for summer pasture tourism, and springtime travel is best. Spend the night at Chuntaga.

Day 6 Trek to Kothe

There is a lovely trail that leads from Thuli Kharka to Kothe. Three ridges will be crossed: Kothe, Hinku Valley, and Hinku River. Rhododendron blooms can be seen along the forest route. It energises the journey further and facilitates experiencing nature up close. The vistas of the mountains will stay with you forever. We will eventually arrive in Kothe after passing by neighbourhood tea stores and over the Sanu Khola bridge. We’ll spend the night at Kothe.

Day 7 Kothe to Thaknak

Today, we stroll along the Hinku River Ridge under the shadow of Mera Peak. When we get to Gondishung, the 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa is located there. The written Mera Peak is located in a rock here at Lungsumgba Gompa. The Torah makes it apparent how to reach the top. We finally arrive to Thaknak, where we will spend the night, after a short stroll.

Day 8 Thaknak to Khare

We’re going to Khare today. Every traveller is drawn to the captivating beauty of the Charpate Himal while travelling to Khare. Before arriving in Khare, we will go via the glaciers of Hinku Nup and Shar. From here, one may see Mera Peak’s northern face. For now, we are free to explore Khare. Spend the night in Khare.

Day 9 Rest day in Khare (Acclimatization Day)

The guides will finalise the arrangements for the Mera Peak ascent on this day of rest. Every piece of gear and equipment is inspected, and preemptive measures are computed. Hiking is also done if needed to help acclimatise to the area. It is not required, though, and it will be up to you and the guide. Spend the night in Khare.

Day 10 Khare to Mera Base Camp

After breakfast, we set off on our hike. We are going to head for Mera Peak Base Camp. After hours of steady trekking on a steep trail through a course littered with boulders, we arrive at the camp. In order to maintain our bodies and respiration at greater elevations, we shall ascend even higher. We will rest here at Base Camp. Extra instruction is offered to those who require it to increase their confidence. Resting and getting ready for the next day would take up the remainder of the day. We’ll spend the night in Mera Peak Base Camp.

Day 11 Mera Base Camp to High camp

We travel through Mera La Pass to get to Mera High Camp. The terrain is rocky and may be difficult because of the crevasses. We move at a steady pace towards high camp. We’ll go to the summit gradually and carefully. We are going to pitch our tents in the upper camp. Our days at High Camp are unforgettable because of the views of numerous mountains, including Nuptse, Chamlang, the south face of Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, and Mt. Everest.

Day 12 Mera High Camp to Summit and Back to Khare

We’re going to attempt the ascent of Mera Peak today. This is the day that your dream will materialise. At two in the morning, we’ll get up and eat breakfast. Since the air gets thinner here, we climb at a leisurely pace. As we approach the summit, we ascend cautiously and fasten ourselves to a fixed rope that will support us. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7,129m), and other peaks, will be breathtakingly visible from the summit. Day 13 Reserve Day for Contingency

Today is slated to be flexible. We won’t always be able to reach the summit on the scheduled day. We will have an additional day to climb to the summit if the weather is bad or unpredictable and we decide to postpone our climb instead of going on the scheduled day. For this reason, it is advised that travellers stick to the 13-day itinerary when climbing Mera Peak. However, this 13th day is not necessary if the trekking proceeds according to schedule. We’re going to head back to Lukla now.

Day 14 Khare to Kothe

We retrace our previous routes in search of Kothe. We shall savour the breathtaking view of the mountains before returning to Kothe gradually. We will celebrate our success at the trail’s peak ascent and have a great evening at Kothe. We’re going to sleep well today. Spend the night at Kothe.

Day 15 Kothe to Thuli Kharka

We walk towards Thuli Kharka on the west side of Hinku Valley. We shall savour the revitalising scent and gorgeous red colour of the rhododendron, which filled the forest. As we travel to our current location, we will be treated to stunning views of Mera North, Central, and South from Thuli Kharka. Spend the evening at Thuli Kharka.

Day 16 Thuli Kharka to Lukla

When we settle back down, it will appear to be our only thought. We’ll soak in the scenery as we go up to Zatrwa La Pass. No sooner will the breathtaking Lukla Valley greet us than we will reach the Pass. From Zatrwa La Pass, we will trek all the way down to Chutanga and then on to Lukla, where we will spend the night.

Trip Overview

Mera Peak

At 6476 metres, Mera Peak is one of the most well-liked climbing locations in Nepal for mountaineers. In the Everest region, it’s a great mountain for climbers to reach. Trekking, exploring, and taking in the views of the surrounding high mountain ranges from the peak is both intriguing and difficult. It is tough for novice climbers and excellent for experienced climbers to train on before attempting the region’s more difficult summits. A strong mentality and a high level of physical fitness are prerequisites for climbing Mera Peak. The beginning location of Mera Peak is Lukla. In flying, Lukla is around 35 minutes from Kathmandu. After a few days of ups and downs from Lukla, you arrive in the stunning Mera region. Mera Peak is not as challenging as other peaks, although it does need greater endurance from novice climbers.

Our first stop on our journey to the Mera Peak is the isolated, immaculate Hinky Valley. Views of gorgeous terraced fields, verdant woodlands, and other scenery are excellent from the pristine location. After that, you will travel to the 5045-meter-high town of Khare. The rivers that you pass alongside the glaciers will be ideal for getting you ready for an amazing ascent.

Following the full walking distance from Lukla, you will ascend to the 5350-meter base camp and the 5780-meter high camp. The last day will then be spent pushing to the top of 6476-meter Mera Peak. One of the climbers’ favourite views is the expansive vista from the summit. With views of some of the top 8,000-meter peaks in the area, including Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu, the experience at the summit keeps the hiker enthralled. You will be surrounded by numerous other high mountain peaks, like Nuptse (7855m) and Chamlang (7319m), which will occupy your gaze. One benefit of travelling back to Lukla is that we will be passing across the breathtaking Zatra La Pass. You can have a great time learning about the well-known Sherpa customs and cultures in the area.

Mera Peak

Mera Peak Climbing – The best viewpoint for 8000-meter mountains view

Mera Peak, which climbs to a height of 6476 metres, provides a vantage from which to observe many of the well-known snow-capped Himalayan summits. It provides a 360-degree panorama of eight of the ten highest peaks in the world, with Mount Everest being the most well-known. Additionally, it offers breathtaking views of five peaks that rise above 8,000 metres: Makalu (8485 metres), Cho Oyu (8188 metres), Lhotse (8516 metres), Kanchenjunga (8586 metres), and Mount Everest (8848 metres).Numerous other high peaks in the Everest region and the surrounding Himalayas are also visible.

Mera Peak Climbing Difficulty

The Mera peak can be separated into three primary peaks, as we have already mentioned. It is considered that the middle peak is the easiest and best suited for novice climbers. Climbing the Mera South Peak is a moderate experience that demands a significant mental and physical toll. The most challenging mountain is reportedly Mera North, which requires a skilled climber to reach. Climbers who are not experienced should avoid attempting Mera’s North peak due to its extreme technicality. But unlike climbing Everest, the Mera peaks do not pose a threat to life. Before attempting the challenging climbs of Island Peak and Everest Peak, many climbers practise climbing Mera Peak. There are extremely few reported instances of the data rate in Mera peak. For those who are just beginning to peak climb, this location is ideal.

Best Season for Mera Peak Climbing

There are differences between the several peaks of Mera and its climbing season. All year long, one can scale the centre peak. The ideal seasons to climb the three peaks are thought to be spring and autumn, specifically the months of March through May and September through November. You can climb the southern and central peaks on any given day. Nonetheless, we advise you to stay away from the June through August rainy season. This time of year, the cold truly makes the trek to the southern summit difficult. The hardest face to climb is the north face, which should only be done in the spring and autumn. Particularly in the spring, when one may enjoy spectacular vistas of the nearby Himalayan hills under bright sky.

Mera Peak Climbing is an easy Climb

In Nepal, climbing Mera Peak is regarded as the easier variation of peak climbing. A lot of climbers who are planning to conquer Mount Everest use the Mera peak climb as a warm-up.It functions similarly to a mountain climbing and acclimatisation experience before taking on the immense challenge of conquering Everest. Due to its high altitude, this mountain can be a little difficult, but it’s ideal for those who have never climbed before. But reaching the top of any mountain is a laborious task. Thus, it is always necessary to be physically and mentally fit.

Trail filled with Flora and Fauna around Mera Peak

The Makalu Barun national park is home to Mera Peak. The park, which was created in 1991 AD, is an extension of the well-known Sagarmatha National Park and is home to numerous wild species. It has a vast span of 1500 square kilometres and is home to numerous endangered plant and animal species. The park features numerous ponds, lakes, rivers, and woods with multiple habitats for these species, ranging from the well-known Red panda, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, and Red fox to the 300 kinds of birds with variations in mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Perched 5,000 metres above sea level, the location is nothing more than a marvel of nature.

The Mera Peak Climbing Itinerary from Nepal Trek Adventures is planned so that the hiker may properly acclimatise to the rising altitude. For the expedition, there are three Mera Peaks: South Mera Peak (6,064m), Central Mera Peak (6,461m), and North Mera Peak (6,476m). NTA manages Central Mera Peak out of the three peaks since, unlike North Mera Peak, the path is free of crevasses and glacial changes. This itinerary is designed and appropriate for all visitors who like to take in the area’s natural Himalayan scenery at a more affordable and sensible cost. Therefore, please don’t hesitate to schedule a time with us—we are available for your service around-the-clock.
