Today, we go to some of Delhi’s most well-known and significant locations, like the majestic Royal Red Fort, popularly known as Lal Killa. It’s a lovely fort composed of amazing red stone marvels.

Then, we move in the direction of Jama Masjid, which is 500 meters away from the Red Fort. One of the largest mosques in India, it was constructed by Shah Jahan, the renowned monarch who also built the Taj Mahal. This monument, which is made of sandstone and white marble, has a striking architectural design that draws tourists of all faiths.

In addition, we investigate the South Delhi District’s Qutub Minar, a 43-meter-long tower. There are 379 exquisitely constructed spiral-shaped steps in the five-story skyscraper. Because the palace was constructed over a number of years and during the reigns of several monarchs, the architectural variations are visible.

Among the most visited structures worldwide is the Lotus Temple. It is a house of worship for the Bahá’í Faith. The religion stresses the integration of all religions and promotes their significance. The temple does not discriminate on the grounds of religion, gender, caste, creed, sex, or educational background and is therefore accessible to all elements of society. The Lotus Flower’s unique structure is fascinating.

Following our tour of some of the most well-known Old Delhi landmarks, we investigate the Presidential Palace, commonly known as Rashtrapati Bhawan. The building’s construction took seventeen years to finish.

It is imperative to visit India Gate while in Delhi. Constructed with appreciation and reverence for the Indian warriors, the gate rising in the center of Delhi is a memorable homage. The pillar bears the names of over 13,000 warriors. You will be driven back to your hotel for a restful night in Delhi by the evening.

We drop you off at Delhi Airport early in the morning so we can catch our early Leh flight. Your Leh-Ladakh guide will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel of your choice. We will arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon, giving us more than two hours to kill. But this is a day to unwind. Recall that your body will require some time to acclimate to the sudden change in altitude since you have just traveled from sea level to a high-altitude location.

You should not do much physical activity today, so unwind and enjoy the scenery from your accommodation while stuffing yourself with authentic Ladakhi food. There will be a briefing regarding the trip as well.

It is in Leh that you will complete your acclimatization on your second day in Ladakh. You will, however, be taking in a tour of the charming city and its surroundings on this particular day.

Our initial target for the day is the point where the vast Indus and Zanskar Rivers converge, approximately 35 kilometers away from Leh town. It’s worth stopping for a look because the two rivers’ waterways display a variety of green hues.

Next, on the Leh-Kargil Highway, we will travel to Magnetic Hill, another popular destination in this area. It is well-known as a location where gravity forces can be defied because of a so-called magnetic pull from the surrounding mountains. Cars roll down even in neutral gear because the surrounding hills and mountains make it look like the road is heading uphill, when in fact it is sloping downhill.

Leh Palace, a 17th-century building, will be our next exploration location. Leh Palace, once the home of the royal family, is now a museum where visitors may learn about the history of the Ladakh royalty. A breathtaking bird’s-eye perspective of the town is offered by the palace’s hilltop location. During our tour of the palace, we’ll take pictures and gain glimpses of its historic architecture.

Our destination is the World Peace Pagoda, also known as Shanti Stupa. Among Leh’s main attractions, it was constructed to celebrate two millennia of Buddhism and to promote global peace and prosperity. Views of the city and its environs may be seen from this sacred location, which is set atop a mountain. It is well worth seeing.

We will walk through Leh Market in the evening. Everything from fresh veggies to handicrafts and souvenirs is being sold at the bustling bazaar. In addition to purchasing handicrafts like Tibetan prayer flags and wheels, you may sample some of the street cuisine and dry fruits from the region. Our excellent meal will round off the day.

It’s time to leave the city now and head for the mountains. The stunning Nubra Valley, which is roughly a five- to six-hour drive from Leh, is today’s destination. The Khardung La Pass is the main attraction of today’s driving excursion. Situated at a height of 17,582 feet (5359 meters), it is among the highest motorable passes in the world. We shall continue our journey after spending 15 to 20 minutes taking in the surroundings of the pass.

Once we cross Khardung La, the terrain rather dramatically changes. By late afternoon, our road trip along the Shyok River brings us into the stunning green valley of Nubra.

Herds of Bactrian Camels accompany us as we walk to the renowned Hundar Dunes to watch the sunset after finishing the hotel check-in process. The indigenous Bactrian camels of this area are well known for their capacity to withstand extremely low temperatures and high altitudes. This area boasts similarly breathtaking scenery, with sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see and towering Rocky Mountains around it all. We go back to our hotel and stay there for the night.

Following breakfast, we will head in the direction of Diskit Monastery and then start down the path to Pangong Lake. In Nubra Valley, the Diskit Monastery is a well-liked tourist attraction situated on a hill near the intersection of a road connecting Partharpur and Those. This monastery, which is the biggest and oldest in the valley, is well-known worldwide for the 106-foot (32-meter) Maitreya Buddha statue that is located next to it.

After that, we travel on to Pangong Lake. We travel over stunning mountain roads for around six hours on this journey. After we arrive, we will check in and then go see the stunning Pangong Tso, which is encircled by mountains. It is a well-liked tourist site in Ladakh, renowned for its stunning turquoise-blue water. On the Pangong Tso riverbank, that is where we will spend the night.

We will enjoy the sun’s fleeting glimpses of light peeping through the far-off mountains and grazing the entire lake. Now that the day has begun with a captivating dawn, it is time to return to Leh.

Following a hearty and delectable breakfast at the heritage camp, we say goodbye to the lake and its environs and go back towards Leh. At 5360 meters, the Chang La Pass is crossed in our vehicle. Here, we take a brief break to see the Changla Baba Temple and Chana La Café, located at the summit of the pass. Our next destination is the renowned Hemis Monastery.

The largest and best-equipped monastery in Ladakh, the Hemis Monastery was constructed in 1630 and is a member of the Drukpa Lineage of Buddhism. The gompa (monastery) houses a museum with displays of Tibetan texts, Thangkas, gilded sculptures, precious stone-inlaid Stupas, weapons, carriers, and even a plush vulture pup.
Check in and relax once you’re in Leh. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Our final day in Ladakh will be spent finishing up our travel arrangements and seeing more of Leh. Shey Gompa and Thikshey Monastery are the two sites we will be touring today. If we did not go to Shanti Stupa on our second day in Leh, we will go there as well.

We’re going to most likely go to the Thikshey Monastery early in the morning to witness the Morning Prayer chanting. This will be an amazing experience. We will take a walk around the location and examine its artwork, architecture, and history following the Morning Prayer session. It’s a terrific place to learn about Buddhism and the local culture, in addition to the undoubtedly stunning vistas and amazing architecture.

We return after spending enough time at the stunning Thikshey monastery, passing by Rancho School and Druk Padma Karpo School before stopping at the Shey Gompa. The gigantic copper and gilded gold statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, considered to be the second-largest statue in Ladakh, is the main attraction of Shey Monastery and is a must-see. Situated atop a mountainside, the Gompa offers stunning, all-encompassing vistas.

Today would be a great day to return to the local market and pick up some souvenirs to take home in addition to visiting the attractions mentioned above.
