Today, you’ll embark on a guided tour of the Kathmandu Valley, home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tour includes visits to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. Each site offers a unique insight into Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, with ancient architecture, vibrant religious practices, and bustling local life. Return to your hotel in the evening to prepare for the start of your trek.
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Beni, the starting point of the Guerrilla Trek. The journey takes approximately nine hours and offers picturesque views of lush valleys, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Upon arrival in Beni, you’ll check into your accommodation and have the evening to rest and prepare for the trekking adventure ahead.
Leaving Darbang behind, you’ll trek to Lamsung, located at an altitude of 2250 meters. The trail becomes more challenging as you ascend, but the scenic views of hills and valleys make it worthwhile. Today’s trek takes about 4-5 hours, passing through dense forests and traditional villages. Lamsung is known for its serene environment and offers a glimpse into the local Magar culture.
Today’s trek takes you to Gurjaghat, situated at 3015 meters. This segment of the trek is one of the highlights, as you traverse high pasture lands and enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri. The 5-6 hour trek is both challenging and rewarding, with the trail passing through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows. You’ll camp overnight in Gurjaghat, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
The journey continues to Dhorpatan, the only hunting reserve in Nepal, located at 2870 meters. The 4-5 hour trek offers a unique experience, combining trekking with the opportunity to learn about the region’s wildlife conservation efforts. The reserve is home to various species of flora and fauna, making it a fascinating stop on the trek. You’ll spend the night in a teahouse or camp, enjoying the tranquil environment.
From Dhorpatan, you’ll trek to Nisel Dhor, situated at 2620 meters. This part of the trek involves a 4-5 hour walk through picturesque landscapes, traditional villages, and dense forests. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, providing ample opportunities for photography and relaxation. Nisel Dhor is a small village where you’ll spend the night, experiencing the local culture and hospitality.
Today’s trek takes you to Taka, located at 2185 meters. This 6-7 hour trek is one of the longer segments, but the varied landscapes and cultural encounters make it worthwhile. The trail passes through dense forests, alpine meadows, and traditional Magar villages, offering a deep insight into the local way of life. You’ll spend the night in Taka, enjoying the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
The journey continues as you trek from Taka to Lukum, situated at 2095 meters. The 5-6 hour trek takes you through picturesque landscapes, dense forests, and traditional villages. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys, providing ample opportunities for photography and relaxation. Lukum is a small village where you’ll spend the night, experiencing the local culture and hospitality.
Today’s trek takes you to Thawang, located at 1975 meters. This 4-5 hour trek is relatively easy, with the trail passing through dense forests, alpine meadows, and traditional Magar villages. The final trekking day takes you to Suliochaur, situated at 830 meters. The 5-6 hour trek involves a steep descent, with the trail passing through dense forests and traditional villages. Suliochaur is a small village where you’ll spend the night, experiencing the local culture and hospitality.
On the penultimate day, you’ll drive from Sulichaur to Kathmandu, a journey of 9-10 hours. The drive takes you through stunning landscapes, offering a final glimpse of the beauty of Nepal. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the unforgettable journey.
The final day is a leisure day in Kathmandu, allowing you to explore the city at your own pace, do some last-minute shopping, or simply relax. This is a perfect opportunity to visit any sites you might have missed at the beginning of the trip or to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Thamel, Kathmandu’s tourist hub. In the evening, you’ll prepare for your departure.
