Itinerary

Day 1 Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

The Luxury Trek to Annapurna Base Camp begins today. After arriving in Pokhara, we continue our journey by car to Nayapul, from which we hike in the direction of Tikhedhunga. We walk for fifteen minutes from Nayapul down the Modi Khola (River) side to Birethanti (1,065m), a large town with lots of stores and teahouses.

From there, the trail follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola and swings left and right to favor the settlement. After that, the trail steadily ascends the valley’s transverse side to Hile, which is located at 1,495 meters, and then continues to Tikedhunga, which is located at 1,525 meters.

This is a short, usually relaxed day that will help us get closer to acclimating to the experience of hiking in Nepal. In Tikhedhunga, we will spend the night at an opulent lodge.

  • 25 to 30 minutes is the flight time (from Kathmandu to Pokhara).
  • two hours of driving (from Pokhara to Nayapul)
  • Trekking time: five to six hours (from Tikhedhunga to Nayapul)
  • At its highest point, 1,525 meters (Tikhedhunga)
  • 1,400 meters is the minimum altitude (Kathmandu/Pokhara).
  • The day’s main attractions include Pokhara City, the riverside forest route, the cascades, the stone-paved path, the nearby community, and the collection of hotels and lodges.

Day 2 Trek to Ghorepani

On this particular day, we arrive at Ghorepani after a steady ascent through the communities of Ulleri, Banthanti, and Nangge Thanti. This morning, we have an early breakfast at Tikhedhunga Lodge before beginning our hike. The hardest part of the day will be getting to Ulleri because the terrain consists of steep, straight stone steps.

The path is substantially simpler from Ulleri since it passes over more horizontal rather than vertical terrain. The trail continues from Banthanti across the vast woodland to Nangge Thanti. There are hardly any houses visible.

Reaching Ghorepani, we take the wooded trail. To complete all or a portion of this trekking adventure, a pony ride is also an option. Spend the night in a five-star Ghorepani hotel.

  • Trekking time: seven to nine hours
  • 2,874 meters is the maximum altitude (Ghorepani)
  • 1,525 meters is the minimum altitude (Tikhedhunga).
  • Viewed mountains: Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges
  • Main attractions of the day include the suspension bridge, the pony (horse) march, the stone-paved pathways, the forest of rhododendron, pine, spruce, and oak, the cascades, the local residences, hotels, and lodges, the Ghorepani Gateway, the temples, and the tiny monuments.

Day 3 Trek to Tadapani

We set out early today, at approximately 4:30 AM, from the Ghorepani Hotel to walk towards the Ghorepani Poon Hill Viewpoint. With a few exceptions, such as Poonhill Entry Point and Mobile Tower Point, the whole route consists of gradually ascending steps leading to Poonhill.

This trip upwards takes about one hour and thirty minutes on average. The sun rises and the first glimmers of the high mountains are seen between 6:00 and 06:30 AM. We spend a few minutes at the lookout to take pictures, videos, and more sun exposure.

After that, we go down to Ghorepani. This descending track will take 20 to 30 minutes to finish. After eating breakfast at the hotel, we continue on our way to Tadapani. We first travel upward, then straight, and then some downhill to Deurali in order to get to this location.

Reaching Tadapani requires taking the straight vertical uphill and downhill paths, both starting from Deurali. Along the route, we pass numerous rivers and cascades. Approximately 7 to 9 hours are needed to get from Ghorepani to Tadapani. Spend the night at the Tadapani hotel.

  • Trekking times are two hours (from Gorepani to Poonhill) and seven to nine hours (from Gorepani to Tadapani).
  • 3,210 meters is the highest point reached (Ghorepani Poon Hill)
  • 2,630 meters is the minimum altitude (Tadapani).
  • The following mountains were visible: Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), Gangapurna, and Annapurna I.
  • The day’s main attractions are: Ghorepani Poonhill, the inverted forest, the stone steps, the trail that goes uphill and downhill, the river, the bridges, the temples, the monuments, the chortens, the tree-root steps, the pony-march, and the view of the hills

Day 4 Trek to Chhomrung/Sinuwa

This day, we go for Chhomrung/Sinuwa after eating an early breakfast. Once the course descends from Tadapani, it offers further breathtaking views of the upper Modi valley.

At that point, the route starts its lengthy, steep ascent across the Modi Khola’s west bank in order to reach the settlement of Chhomrung. Tucked down at the foot of Himalchuli Mountain lies the town of Chhomrung, which we pass. From Chhomrung, the trail descends to Chhomrung Khola, after which it begins to climb gradually toward Sinuwa, our day’s target.

It is preferable to halt at Chhomrung or Sinuwa during the day. For today, stopping at Chhomrung will be a soothing experience; but, stopping at Sinuwa will prove advantageous for tomorrow. The decision will be based on the individual’s physical state.

  • Trekking takes six hours to reach Chhomrung and seven hours to reach Sinuwa.
  • 2,630 meters is the maximum altitude (Tadapani)
  • 2,140 meters (Chhomrung) or 2,310 meters (Sinuwa) is the minimum altitude.
  • Viewed mountains include Gangapurna, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Himchuli, and Dhaulagiri.
  • The Modi Khola (River), Modi Valley, Tadapani Village, pine and rhododendron forests, bamboo forests, stone-paved steps, and the Chhomrung/Sinuwa hamlet are the main attractions of the day.

Day 5 Trek to Bamboo/Dovan

We proceed from Chhomrung/Sinuwa to Bamboo/Dovan today. Between these two locations, a seven- to eight-hour journey is typical. We walk beside the rushing river, up and down hillsides, through terrace fields, hot springs, and forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron.

Due to the tiny waterfalls that cross the isolated pathway, parts of the route are still slick, therefore extreme caution should be used. Spend the night in a hotel in Dovan or Bamboo.

  • Trekking time: seven to eight hours
  • Maximum Height: 2,505 meters (Dovan) or 2,340 meters (Bamboo)
2,140 meters (Chhomrung) or 2,310 meters (Sinuwa) is the minimum altitude.
  • Viewed mountains include Tent Peak, Glacier Dome, Tharpu Chuli, Dhaulagiri summits, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), Annapurna I, II, III, and South.
  • The main attractions of the day include the Dovan town made of bamboo, the stone-paved pathways, the forest of pine and oak, the hot springs, the cascades, the terraced areas, and the riverbank walk.

Day 6 Trek to Deurali

We pass through damp and chilly bamboo forest, which at that time climbs steadily with a few soak sections. It’s only when we get to Hotel Himalaya that the trees part and we are in the sun once more, with incredible views of the freezing stream below.

You make a treacherous ascent through considerably drier forest before arriving at Hinku Cave. From this point on, the trail descends closer to the waterway before ascending once again to Deurali, the day’s most picturesque section.

Less foliage allows for spectacular views of the valley, the stream below, and the towering cliffs, which are adorned with clusters of whirly waterfalls. Spend the night at the Deurali hotel.

  • Trekking time: five to six hours
  • 3,230 meters is the highest point (Deurali)
  • 2.340 meters for Bamboo and 2,505 meters for Dovan is the minimum altitude.
  • Viewed mountains include Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), Hiunchuli, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and Annapurna IV.
  • The day’s main attractions are: A section of a slick and damp path, streams and rivers, a pine, oak, and rhododendron forest, narrow waterfalls, Hinku Cave, and precipitous cliffs

Day 7 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

The day has finally arrived when we will arrive at Annapurna Base Camp, the trip’s ultimate aim. The most captivating feeling on the track is arriving at Mount Annapurna’s base camp, the world’s tenth highest peak.

Carefully making our way up a bed of water, we cross a towering trail across a mountainside and arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It’s a rather strenuous journey from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. We can see vistas of tens of mountains from MBC.

On the journey to Annapurna Base Camp, the foliage disappears, and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna Sanctuary. The sanctuary is only two hours’ hike from Annapurna Base Camp. Stay the night at Base Camp Annapurna.

  • Trekking time: eight to nine hours
  • Maximum Elevation: Annapurna Base Camp, 4,130 meters
  • 3,230 meters is the minimum altitude (Deurali)
  • Viewed mountains include Mount Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Gandharva Chuli, Annapurna I, South, III, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain).
  • The day’s main attractions are the Annapurna Base Camp and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, as well as a forest, rocky paths, and a number of hotels.
