Stay at Ghorepani for the night.
Today, we go up to Poonhill to take in the stunning vista of the rising sun and mountain ranges. It’s a gorgeous location where you can take a tonne of amazing photos with stunning contrast and natural beauty. On the last day of your Ghorepani poon hill trek, we will drive you to Poon Hill, which is located at an altitude of 3,210 meters (10,531 ft).
The Poon Hill area is well-known for its magnificent rhododendron flowers, which bloom profusely in the spring and add a pop of colour to the already gorgeous Annapurna region’s landscape. The rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal, where more than thirty varieties of this magnificent plant can be found.
The slopes and woodlands surrounding Poon Hill are blanketed in a carpet of brilliant blooms in the springtime thanks to rhododendron flowers, which come in a variety of hues from fiery red and pink to white and yellow. Flowers often start in lower elevations in March and move up to higher elevations throughout the course of the month, covering the hillsides in an abundance of colour in April and May.
In addition, the stunning views of the Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill will undoubtedly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you. Views of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, Hinchuli, Annapurna III, Dhampus Peak, Dhulagiri II, and other lofty peaks can be had from Poon Hill.
One noteworthy observation is that Machapuchare is positioned across from Mount Annapurna when you are in front of Annapurna Base Camp. On the other hand, you will be able to see Machapuchare and all of the other Annapurna Massifs in a single line from Poon Hill. The Himalayas will shine brightly in front of you as you take in this breathtaking picture.
The chosen booking day may have an impact on the trek’s temperature. We make this walk available every day of the year to ensure availability.

Autumn officially begins in September and ends in November. Throughout this season, the lowest and warmest temperatures are typically about 0 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively. The mild, pleasant weather that follows the conclusion of the rainy season is ideal for trekking.
Like other treks in the Annapurna Region, Poon Hill Trek requires two separate permits: the ACAP permit (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) and the TIMS Card (Trekking Information Management System). To enter the area, one does not require a restricted area permit.
When you reserve your three-day walk to Ghorepani Poon Hill with us, you don’t have to bother about obtaining permissions. To make sure you enjoy a hassle-free and seamless excursion, we have included all required permissions in our price. Here are some details about the two permits required for this walk up Poon Hill.
Trekkers Information Management System Permit: Every trekker in Nepal needs one of these cards. The card costs NPR 2000 (about USD 18) for overseas visitors.
Permit for the Annapurna Conservation Area Project: This permit helps to preserve the Annapurna area. This card costs NPR 3,000 (about USD 30) for international travellers.
Anyone with a modest level of physical fitness can accomplish the three-day Poon Hill trip, as it is categorised as moderately challenging. The route covers a distance of around 30 to 40 miles (50 to 65 km), with a mix of mild ascents and descents.
Five to six hours of hiking a day on average are required to complete the three-day Poon Hill path. During the walk, you will pass through heights that range from a maximum of 10,530 feet (3,210 metres) at Poon Hill to about 8,000 feet (2,440 metres).
The trip can be difficult in some spots, particularly on the ascents, and acclimatisation can be difficult, but most individuals with average levels of fitness should be able to complete it without too many issues if they are well-prepared.
Amazing views of the Himalayas, quaint settlements, and an unmatched cultural experience can be had on a three-day climb up Poon Hill. However, meticulous planning is necessary to guarantee a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. To ensure you have the greatest Poon Hill experience possible, below is a comprehensive guide:
We prioritise the security and comfort of our hikers while selecting accommodations. This three-day Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek will take place at more opulent tea houses than the typical teahouse.
Despite the fact that most rooms are meant for twin sharing, our advisors will assign rooms according to gender. If you would want private rooms within a group or if you will be travelling as a couple, please let us know in advance, and we will make the necessary arrangements to suit your needs.
Teahouses are the primary accommodation option for trekkers in the Annapurna region. These are the lodges owned by local families who provide lodging and meals. Most teahouse accommodations are modest, with twin beds complete with cushions, blankets, and towels. Keep in mind that the lodging is typically relatively basic for the area.
Most tea shops feature shared bathrooms. While some may have Western-style restrooms, others may have squat toilets. Hot showers are a common feature at teahouses, however some could charge extra for them.

Here’s a list of amenities that you may expect to find along the way to Poon Hill, including WiFi and electricity.
Teahouses typically have electricity, so you can charge electronics like cameras there. Please be advised that due to the remote locations, there may be power disruptions or additional expenses for charging. Many teahouses charge for Wi-Fi, which isn’t particularly fast. For better connectivity, local SIM cards with data plans can be purchased in large cities.
Most teahouses and lodges along the Poon Hill walk have basic first-aid kits available that may treat minor cuts, scrapes, and headaches. Basic medications like pain relievers and anti-diarrhea tablets are available from them. Furthermore, our guides always have first-aid supplies on them. Thus, you can let them know if you’re uncomfortable.
In terms of medical posts, the Nayapul Trail Medical Post offers basic medical care as well as consultations. A basic medical facility that offers first aid and consultations for common ailments is also located in Tikhedhunga.
Ulleri is a tiny medical station that provides basic treatment and can also treat minor illnesses and injuries. In addition, Ghorepani has several health posts manned by registered nurses and doctors. They are able to treat a wider range of illnesses, including small wounds and altitude sickness.
Along the way, you might encounter guesthouses or teahouses with basic squat toilets. These facilities serve the essential purpose even though they might not always be as opulent as those in cities. It’s best to have toilet paper on hand because you never know when you’ll need it.
As you ascend the stunning paths towards Poon Hill, there are moments when nothing exists except nature. There are designated stops along the way where you can unwind, listen to the birds, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It’s crucial to plan your personal hygiene needs and to take care of the environment while taking in this incredible hiking experience.
Because of its mild classification, there is very little chance of altitude sickness on the three-day Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. However, unexpected events like floods, landslides, accidents, or abrupt weather changes could happen at any point throughout the journey.
For that reason, insurance coverage for medical and emergency extradition, as well as for the expense of a high-altitude helicopter rescue and evacuation, is necessary for this expedition.
After reserving your three-day hike up Ghorepani Poon Hill, we respectfully ask that you provide us with your entire insurance package. In an emergency, we’ll use your insurance to save you right away.
We offer a simple and user-friendly online booking system if you would like to reserve your Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with us. You can instantly reserve your trek online and wait for our staff to confirm it.
We can also be reached via WhatsApp or our website. You can reach us directly or give us a call at +977 9851017030 (Binod Sapkota) if you prefer to communicate with us online. Full payment of the total amount is needed to guarantee your departure on the selected date. Nevertheless, depending on the specifics of your fixed departure tour or personalised itinerary, you may need to pay at least 50% of the entire trek package fee in order to guarantee your trek without making a complete reservation. You can pay the remaining 50% at our head office in Kathmandu or when you arrive in Nepal ahead of your planned trek.
