We arrive at our first location of the journey, Lukla (2827 metres), after taking an early flight from Kathmandu. The forty-minute flight will provide a view of the massive mountains that connect Tibet (China) and Nepal.
After arriving at Lukla, we continue walking in the direction of the Dudh Koshi River, where we join the main route to Namche Bazaar. Slightly above Chaunrikharka (2713m) is its location. After a little trek, we eventually arrive in Phakding, where we will spend the night, after passing the small settlement of Ghat (2550m).
We climb up to the valley where the river crosses from Phakding. The trail is bordered in the middle by a lovely grove of rhododendron and blue pine, which provides a breathtaking view during the spring blossoming season. We cross the Dudh Koshi River at Benker, where we are treated to a breathtaking view of peaks like Thamserku (6623m) and Kusum Kanguru (6396m).
It’s a short hike from here to Monjo (2835m). After crossing back to the right bank and reaching the Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi Rivers, the trek ascends the river on level ground. Following the crossing of a big suspension bridge, we walk at a steady pace.
The main draw from this position is the gorgeous vistas of peaks like Tabuche, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest. We arrive at Namche Bazaar, where we will spend the night, after passing through these magnificent paths.
Adapting to a new environment requires time and experience. Thus, this day of acclimatisation is really helpful in getting used to the height. A tiny settlement called Namche is situated in the biggest protected area. This location provides views of Mt. Everest up close as well as a stunning vista of the Khumbu peaks at sunrise and dusk.
On this day, we will be able to pick between walking in the National Park Headquarters to witness the ordinary yet distinctive presentation of Sherpa culture and lifestyle, and walking towards Thami (3810m), which is located above the Bhote Koshi River Valley.
We stroll from Namche Bazaar to the park headquarters and then ascend to a point above the Dudh Kosi River. The monastery, which is encircled by Himalayan peaks and situated directly below the tallest peak, is completely visible along the Tengboche trail.
Beautiful Danphe Pheasants, silver fir forests between Shanasa and Trashinga, and Himalayan Tahr are among the local flora and animals that can be seen. The route climbs once we arrive at the reforestation nursery at Trashinga and continues until we bridge the Dudh Koshi River at Phunkitenga (3250m). We eat lunch and then ascend to Tengboche via steep fir, black juniper, rhododendron, and pine forests.
The lodge, where we reside, and the monastery are situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting encircled by Himalayan peaks. The most stunning peaks visible from this location are unquestionably Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Kantega.
From Tengboche, we ascend steadily above the Imja Khola and pass one of the tea houses in Orsho before travelling over a river and over ancient glacial moraines to reach our guesthouse in the Dingboche town.
Although the view of Mount Everest is obscured by other peaks like Lhotse and Nuptse, the environment is still stunning. These are also the enormous peaks that emerge from the valley’s easternmost point.
Dingboche is, in fact, a remarkable collection of tiny fields encircled by stone walls that protect the potatoes and barley crops from the frigid winds. It is mostly inhabited during the monsoon season, when a large number of yaks are brought in to feed on the valley meadow.
The massive granite formations of Tabuche behind the lodge give the impression that we are ascending towards heaven. Another reasonable choice from this location is Chukkung. The views from this valley are breathtaking: the fluted ice walls of unnamed summits are lined up at the southern end of the valley, the soaring south face of Lhotse to the north, and Island Peak at the centre of the valley.
Today, we travel via Imja Khola Valley, stone-filled fields, and an area encircled by the Himalayas. It goes on to the Yak Herdsman location in Bibre.
We get a beautiful view of the Ama Dablam and Amphu Labsa mountains during the trial. After three hours and thirty minutes of walking, we arrive in Chhukung from there. We stay at Chhukung for the night.
After a modest meal early in the morning, we set out on foot to climb Khongma la pass, the high point of our entire journey. We have two options for getting to Lobuche, our destination. We have two options: either walk back to Bibre and hike on the path above Niyang Khola, or take the path over a hill northwest of Chhukung above the Nuptse glacier moraines. A Buddhist prayer flag and cairns adorn the pass. The hardest portion of our entire walk is the last slant from this pass. The trail heads north via Khumbu Glacier after climbing the moraine, leading to Lobuche. Spend the night in the Lobuche.
After a modest breakfast, we depart from Lobuche and head for Gorakshep. We ride the board in the direction of the valley running parallel to Khumbu Glacier. Then, after climbing steadily and steeply, we arrive to Changri Nup Glacier’s moraines. We stroll down the cairn-lined path that leads to Gorak Shep’s glacial sand (5160m). Instead of stopping there, we continue on towards the 5,380-meter-high Everest Base Camp (17,600-foot peak). It provides a broad perspective of the flourishing rifts and the Himalayas. In order to lessen the likelihood and intensity of altitude sickness and other illnesses, we acclimatise there by sleeping.
Early in the morning, we walk to Kala Patthar (5545 m), where we are treated to breathtaking vistas from this incredible vantage point. Starting from the hotel, the ascent is quite steep, so take your time and aim to go at a slower pace. The rocky summit beneath Pumori Mountain is called Kala Patthar. Because of the elevation, the walk is challenging, but the view from the top is amazing—beyond our wildest dreams. We depart for Lobuche and return to the resort after stopping for lunch. After that, we follow Lobuche Khola and turn right to get towards Dzongla.
We head towards Gokyo Valley from Dzongla. On this day, we begin our march early in the morning after breakfast. We traverse the narrow trail that winds across patches of rock. We can also view the main glacier from that location. The path gets simpler when you cross the snow-covered section. We soon reach the pass’s summit (5420m), where there is a spectacular view of Ama Dablam, Baruntse, and other lower peaks. Because the pass is vertical, extreme caution should be exercised. There are also dangerous fissures visible. After taking the appropriate route, we descend into the Nymagawa Valley and, after a few more hours of walking, arrive in Thangnak, where we have lunch. We cross rocky patches after lunch to arrive at Gokyo Lake. Our overnight stay is at the Gokyo town, which is 45 minutes away from the lake.
This is the last day of respite on this journey. Early in the morning, hikers who want to see the sunrise from Gokyo Ri get up and climb to the summit (5360m). Others might enjoy a leisurely breakfast while exploring the Gokyo Valley and taking in the breathtaking views. The tallest peak in the Nepalese Himalaya’s Khumbu region is Gokyo Ri. Situated on the western flank of the world’s largest glacier, Ngozumpa, there is a place to be found. Views of four 8000-meter peaks, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Cho Oyu, are captivating from this location. Following our once-in-a-lifetime experience of taking in the area’s natural and cultural splendour, we return to the Gokyo village area, where we spend the night.
We get up early today because we have a longer walk today. On this day, we trek from Gokyo to Lungden, passing across Renjo La Pass. Our route climbs and heads north of Gokyo Land. We will get breathtaking views of Gokyo Valley with its lake and mountains in the distance if we pause and turn around while climbing. After that, we notice boulder hop in the direction of Renjo La Pass (5420m). We continue on till we reach the top of the pass, which is marked with prayer flags and visible from a distance. From this exact spot, we can see Mt. Everest and Makalu to our rear, as well as Nangpa Valley to the north. It is more challenging to traverse because of the steep descent and frequent rock slides. We eventually reach Glacial Lake, from which the valley spreads out. We proceed towards the valley via wide meadows and arrive at the small village of Arya.
Because of the strenuous trek we took the previous day, we are all exhausted. Thus, we begin our trial today and proceed below. We travel down to the Nangpa valley, following the Bhote Koshi River, passing through small communities until we arrive at Marlung village, where we will eat lunch. We descend from Marlung, passing through a few tiny settlements until arriving at Taranga village. We will finally arrive at Thame after a few hours and minutes of walking.
At last, the finish of our journey is in sight. We cross Bhote Khola from Thame on a purpose-built suspension bridge. While travelling, we come upon Buddhist rock paintings that face the Himalayas. We stroll on across the Thamo Valley and return to Namche Bazaar. We pause in Namche Bazaar for lunch. We descend sharply to the enormous suspension bridge that spans the Dudh Koshi River after lunch. We return to Monjo via the Jordan Sale. We travel through Benkar with the best view of Kusum Kangaru, passing through forests of blue pine, oak, and rhododendron. At last, we make our way to our Phakding lodge, where we will spend the night.
Today marks the final day of our journey. After eating breakfast, we take a little stroll around the area to take in the last glimpse of the Everest region. On this day, we explore Lukla and take in the breathtaking Himalayan vistas, lush vegetation, and distinctive Sherpa customs and way of life. We spend the night in Lukla and get ready to leave for Kathmandu the following day.
We are nearing the end of our journey today. We eat breakfast early today and make our way to the airport in time for the trip to Kathmandu. Our staff member will also arrange for your hotel transfer once you arrive in Kathmandu. Along with ethnic dances and programming, our firm will also provide you with a delicious and hygienic dinner delight.

One of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal is the Everest circuit, which mixes amazing adventure with beautiful scenery, making it a true entrance to heaven. Three high passes provide the circuit’s crossing: Kongma La Pass (5420m), Cho La Pass (5420m), and Renjo La Pass (5360m). It lies at an elevation of 5535 metres in eastern Nepal’s Khumbu area. The Everest base camp circuit, which offers the incredible experience of experiencing the Everest Himalayan ranges from east to west with the breathtaking Gokyo Lakes, is one of the top trekking routes in Nepal.
It follows the standard path up to Dingboche, where the trail splits off from Chhukung. You will hike from Chukkung to Lobuche over the well-known Kongma La Pass on Mount Everest. The main draw of the trekking route is the expansive view of the mountains in the Khumbu Valley. This Everest circuit trek offers breathtaking views of numerous mountain peaks, including Mt. Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8475m), Pumo Ri (7165m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), and many more.
Together with Mt. Everest, the highest mountain, the Everest circuit hike offers a breathtaking perspective of other mountain ranges. This view is accentuated at Kala Patthar, another trekking highlight. In addition, the region’s spectacular aerial views of the valley, hillsides, and mountains, together with its verdant and colourful rhododendron, pine, and oak woods, are other notable highlights. The hike is also exhilarating, covering the three passes (Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjo La), a hard walk to EBC, Kalapatthar, and the Gokyo secret valley. It’s also quite hard to put into words the amazing feeling of being able to see more than ten mountains.
Facts about Everest Circuit Trekking
The adventure starts in Kathmandu with an exhilarating plane ride to Lukla, passing through the tiny, lofty hills and snow-capped mountains of eastern Nepal. Beginning in Lukla, the journey follows the Dudh Koshi River past several Sherpa communities. You leave Monjo and head north into the Sagarmatha National Park at Namche Bazaar, the biggest Sherpa hamlet. The road to Lumde passes via Thame after leaving Namche.
Renjo La, standing at 5360 metres above sea level, is the first pass that you will encounter. From here, you can travel to the Ngozumpa Glacier, the biggest glacier in the Khumbu Valley, and the stunning Gokyo Lakes. The route descends to Gokyo town, where you may explore the captivating Gokyo Lakes and discover Sherpa culture. Proceeding eastward on the trail will bring you to Dragnag. The second pass you’ll come across is Cho La Pass (5420m). You will experience the thrill of the expedition as you travel from this location to the Everest Base Camp. You will also have the opportunity to see Kalapatthar in addition to witnessing the magnificent Khumbu Icefall and the Khumbu Mountains.
The last of the Three Passes is Kongma La Pass, which is the highest at 5535 metres. The descent from Kongma La takes you to Chhukung, where the climb back to Lukla begins. Walking along the Imja River, one passes through villages like Orsho, Pangboche, and Tengboche. After reaching Namche, the journey continues descending steadily to Lukla.

Trekking Mount Everest is most enjoyable in the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).Springtime in the Everest region brings lushness and reliable weather. All over the region are large white magnolia trees and vibrant rhododendron plants in full bloom. Because of the consistent weather and breathtaking views, it is also the best time to hike Everest.
Though it can occasionally be cloudier, May is the warmest month to visit Everest Base Camp. It is impossible to predict the weather in Everest for any particular month. April is a notably cleaner month in spring than previous ones. Therefore, it would make sense to climb Everest in April.
In a similar vein, autumn is yet another fantastic season to explore Everest. There will be less clouds, clearer skies, and nicer mountain vistas in September, October, and November. Remember that although it is extremely rare, the area may get rain at lower elevations and snow at higher elevations.
It is advisable that you prepare for any kind of weather.
