The most convenient method of travelling from Namche Bazaar to Kathmandu is by helicopter. The trip from Kathmandu to Namche just takes one hour and fifteen minutes.
For those who are pressed for time and would want to go to Kathmandu quickly, this Heli trip is ideal. Instead of walking all the way down to Lukla, you can take a conventional plane to Kathmandu after finishing the base camp excursion.
Similarly, this helicopter trip works well if you have visited Namche for exploration and need to go back to Kathmandu as soon as possible. Helicopter trips from Kathmandu to Namche are also quite feasible.
After travelling for around one hour and fifteen minutes from Kathmandu, you can continue your itinerary’s sightseeing or trekking trip at Namche. Namche Bazaar is a stunning old Himalayan town in Nepal that is encircled by verdant hills and the White Mountains.
Situated approximately 137 kilometres from Kathmandu, it is situated at an elevation of 3440 metres above sea level. The Everest region’s first acclimatisation stop before reaching Kala Patthar, the base camp, is Namche Bazaar. If you hike the standard route from Lukla to Everest base camp, you will arrive at Namche Bazaar on the second day.
If you are in Namche Bazaar and would like to see more of the Everest region of Nepal up close, including a closer look at Mount Everest, you may take a helicopter ride from Namche Bazaar to Kala Patthar, where you can explore the area, stay at Hotel Everest View, and then take the Lukla flight back to Kathmandu.
The trip from Namche Bazaar to Kala Patthar takes about twenty-five minutes. Take the original Everest helicopter tour (which departs from and ends in Kathmandu) to learn more about the journey.
Note: Another option is to take a flyover helicopter trip to reach Kala Patthar or the base camp. Whether you prefer a landing tour or a flypast tour, the decision is entirely yours.

The majority of consumers want helicopter rides from Namche to Lukla or Lukla to Namche. This is due to the two-day ascent from Lukla to Namche. The level of the trek from Lukla to Namche Bazar is moderate.
Following a night spent in Phakding, you would need to travel seven or eight hours uphill the next day to reach Namche Bazar. It is appropriate for those who would prefer to return to Lukla hassle-free via scenic aircraft and omit the trekking portion.
Trekking takes two days through Phakding to cover the distance between Namche Bazaar and Lukla. And 4 to 7 hours of trekking are required each day. In this case, one could wonder if it is possible to take a bus from Namche to Lukla or from Lukla to Namche.
The rugged terrain and paths make it impractical at this time. However, buses, cars, and other land vehicles will be able to transport you between Namche Bazaar and Lukla in the near future. The road trip from Kathmandu to Namche is comparable.
Currently, there is no way to go from Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar by road; however, this may change in the near future. Nevertheless, you can carry out the pick-up and drop-off service between these two locations using the airbus, or helicopter.
In order to work together and share a journey, Heli travellers can have the option of group joining. It also lowers the price, so it provides a cute cost-sharing option.

The greatest and most well-liked day trip from Namche Bazaar is the hike to Hotel Everest View. From Namche, it takes about three to four hours to get to the hotel. Beginning at 3440 metres above sea level, the walk ends at 3880 metres.
The longer ridge that leads to the region’s north is crossed by the path. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, and other surrounding mountains while travelling. In the Himalayas, Hotel Everest View is a marvel unto itself.
It was created by Japanese architect Yoshinobu Kumagaya, with Takashi Miyahara serving as its visionary. It opened to the public in 1971. Take a look around the hotel, eat if you’d like, and then head down to Namche Bazaar to take in the most breathtaking view of the Himalayas.
Known as the “twin villages,” Khunde and Khumjung are located in the Green Valley. The Sherpa people live in the smaller, more rural communities. Walking distances from Namche Bazaar to Khumjung and Khunde villages are around two and three hours, respectively. There is a constant view of the Ama Dablam and Thamserku mountains during the journey. The following are some of the locations’ main draws:
Khunde: the scenic gate, the cave (where Guru Rimpoche is said to have meditated), and the stupa with the Buddha’s captivating eye,
Khumjung: Khumjung Monastery (where the Yeti scalp is reputed to be kept)
You can eat at one of the neighbourhood tea houses and have a hot cup of coffee before following the main trail back to Namche Bazaar.
Kyangjuma is around 2.1 miles (3.5 km) from Namche Bazaar. Travelling across the canyon above the Dudh Koshi River from Namche Bazaar to Kyangjuma takes around one hour.
This viewpoint provides stunning picturesque scenery in addition to views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Kangtega, and Mount Everest. By following the same path, you can return to Namche Bazaar after seeing Kyangjuma, where you can savour hot coffee and breakfast while admiring the breathtaking scenery.
Apa Sherpa, the person who has successfully summited Mount Everest 21 times, resides in Thame, the most well-known settlement in the Everest region. The best track takes about 5 to 6 hours to cover the 10 kilometres that separate Thame from Namche Bazaar. The hamlet is home to several ancient monasteries and has avoided the throng of people who hike Mount Everest.
