Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu to Dhunche, 7-8 hours drive by Local Bus

We head to Dhunche from Kathmandu. The seven-hour bus ride is accompanied by breathtaking views of the terrace field, verdant valley, and breathtaking panorama of Langtang, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and more. Spend the night at a Dhunche guest home run by locals.

Day 2 Dhunche to Sing Gompa

Today is the first day of our adventure. We trek to Sing Gompa for around five hours. The trail climbs sharply after crossing the Trisuli River on its way from Gosaikunda Lake. Although the route to Chandanbari is a little difficult, the trek is enjoyable as we pass through a verdant pine forest. Once we get at Sing Gompa, we spend the night at a nearby guesthouse.

Day 3 Sing Gompa to Lauribinayek

We begin our hike with a leisurely stroll through several pine and rhododendron forests as we ascend to Lauribinayak Pass. We will have many unforgettable experiences from our time at Lauribinayek, which offers expansive vistas spanning from Mount Langtang to Mount Annapurna. Following a three-hour hike to Lauribinayak, we will spend the night at a guesthouse in the area.

Day 4 Trek to Gosaikunda and back to Lauribinayek

After breakfast early in the morning, we will begin our hour-long ascent to the sacred Lake Gosaikunda Lake. We are treated to breathtaking vistas of the mountains, some of which are reflected in Gosaikunda Lake. The mountains take on a radiant golden hue at sunrise, which evokes happy feelings and wonderful memories. We return to Lauribinayek after spending some time touring the area and spend the night there.

Day 5 Lauribinayek to Dhunche

We set out on our hike, walking down to Cholang Party and then enjoying a leisurely stroll back towards Sing Gompa. It is simpler to travel all the way down to Dhunche from here and spend the night there.

Day 6 Drive to Kathmandu from Dhunche

Early in the morning, we catch a taxi to Kathmandu after breakfast. With a lovely view of the verdant valley, terrace field and gorgeous mountains, it’s the same route back. The journey ends with all the adventure in your thoughts.

Trip Overview

Gosaikunda Lake Trekking

Gosaikunda Lake, a freshwater oligotrophic lake in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, is surrounded by Langtang National Park. The Trisuli River rises from the lake. This region contains around 108 lakes, ranging in size from little to medium. Hindus visit the Gosaikunda Lake as a place of worship. Hindu mythology describes Gosaikunda as the home of Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri. The lake’s significance stems from the fact that it is mentioned in numerous Hindu scriptures. According to the Nepali calendar, during Janaipurnima in the month of Shrawan, a large number of pilgrims from India and Nepal swarm to the location. Gosaikunda is thought to have been formed by Lord Shiva excavating the soil with his Trisul (Trident).

Trekking Gosaikunda is a strenuous path that offers breathtaking views of Manaslu (8,156 m), Ganesh Himal (7,406 m), and Himal Chuli (7,893 m) to the west. Langtang Lirung lies to the north. Upon crossing Lauribinayak, one gets a firsthand look at the sacred waters. The three principal lakes are Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosaikunda, among several dozen more. The walk offers breathtaking views of various mountain ranges, verdant hills, nearby villages, thick forests of rhododendron, and lakes. In addition to the breathtaking vistas, it offers opportunities to engage with Nepal’s diverse population, which includes members of the Tamang, Brahmin, Newar, and other ethnic groups.

Gosaikunda Lake Trekking

Religious Importance

The Hindu mythology excerpt claims that the god churned the primordial seas to create the elixir of perpetual life. Poison was also created while the mixture was being stirred. Lord Shiva drank it, collecting the poison in his throat, in an attempt to preserve the world from this poison. The poison’s reaction caused the neck to become blue. Lord Shiva smote the ground with his trident to cool his burning throat, resulting in the construction of three springs and stunning lakes. Ultimately, Lord Shiva put an end to fire by drinking the water from the lake.

The first step of the Gosaikunda Lake Trek is to drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche. The trip could take up to seven or eight hours. The trekking started the other day. You pass through Lauribinayak la pass and arrive in Gosaikunda after seeing various gompas and nearby settlements. After taking in the breathtaking scenery of the Langtang region, you walk back to Dhunche and then drive back to Kathmandu. The six-day voyage came to a conclusion in Kathmandu with a wealth of experiences, knowledge, and memories.

Size of Trekking Group

There will be a single leader and one Sherpa porter for every two trekkers going on the Gosaikunda Trek. The purpose of this structure is to ensure that the campaign runs smoothly. It guarantees that, should anyone in the group become unwell, the tour will proceed according to schedule. This hike can be led by RT for any size group. However, twelve people is seen to be the ideal group size. But RT can also set this up if you have a group larger than twelve.
