Following breakfast, you will depart Pokhara early in the morning and go to Sikles. By off-the-beaten-path, Sikles is about 36.7 km distant, and it will take approximately 3 hours to get there. Along the way, you’ll travel through charming little villages like Taprang, Chipli gaun, and Khilang gaun that are sparserly populated. You will also be able to enjoy the immaculate view of hills, verdant forests, and snow-capped mountains.
When you get in Sikles, you will be at an elevation of 1980 metres, where you may observe the stunning isolated (village) architecture, the Gurung people’s customs and way of life, and their cultural presence. Visit the Eco-museum, the View Tower (which offers a panoramic view of the entire village), trek up to the Rising Danda (Hill), and Sikles Park to get a breathtaking view of the Annapurna II, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and many other mountains. An average walker will need thirty to thirty-five minutes to get to these locations. You will return to Sikles after your exploration and spend the night there.
This is the first day of trekking and the second day of your walk via Khapuche. You will stroll for five to six hours today. Following breakfast in the morning, you will ascend the hill on a small track that skirts the high hills via stone-paved walkways and stone staircases. Along the road is the 64-meter-tall Edi Jharna waterfall, which offers an excellent perspective. You are welcome to stay and take in the beautiful surroundings for a while. After that, you will ascend several large, steep stone pathways that go alongside the rivers and bridges. After a few hours of climbing, you will arrive at Hugu (Huwu). The trekking path is mostly made up of hikes along the sides of rivers and verdant forests. There are no motels or hotels in Hugu; instead, you must spend the night at little tea houses using the mats.
After breakfast this morning, you will walk in the direction of Khapuche Lake. The trip from Hugu village to the lake site takes two to three hours. The route is easy and brief compared to past days’ excursions. Similarly, you will be treated to views of the route’s tranquil environment and lofty mountain ranges. As you arrive at the lake, you will notice that tall mountains covered in snow encircle the sparkling turquoise lake. There’s a possibility of both minor and significant avalanches in the area, so if you’re lucky, you could be able to see avalanches coming from Annapurna II. Following the same trial, you will first return to Huwu village and then Sikles village after spending some time in Kapuche Lake. It will take you less time to cover the distance since you will be falling significantly. Spend the night in the village of Sikles.
You’ll eat breakfast and go on a quick tour of the village today. You’ll thereafter be heading in the direction of Pokhara. The proprietor of the hotel or lodge in Sikles will tell you farewell in their particular traditional manner and place a tika on your forehead as you leave. From Sikles, a three-hour drive will get you to Pokhara.

The quick 4-day trip to Kapuche Lake in Nepal’s Annapurna area is known as the Kapuche Lake trip. This is the hike to the lowest glacial lake in the world, which is located at 25,464 metres above sea level. Because of its perfect height, Kapuche is one of Nepal’s most promising travel locations because all other glaciers are located above 4000 metres above sea level.
The journey to Kapuche begins in Pokhara, travels through the villages of Sikles and Hugu, ends at Kapuche Lake, and then returns to Pokhara. Should you want to undertake this journey from Kathmandu, you will first be transported to Pokhara, either by air or by road, according on the client’s preference, after which you can walk to your goal.
hiking around Kapuche Lake will show you the recently developed hiking path with its authentic and distinctive rural regions, meadows, and breathtaking white mountains such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna IV, Annapurna II, Annapurna Himal, and so forth. Even yet, the main draw of the walking route to Khapuche is the blue glacier lake, or Kapuche.
Similarly, you will wander across terrace lands, gorgeous green topography, rhododendron woodlands, lush, green forests, a variety of animal and bird species, wild honey bees, and so forth. Likewise, if fortune favours you, you may witness avalanches flowing into the lake from Annapurna and other tall peaks.
Another breathtaking picture of the lake site is the sound and sight of snow and ice falling. Trekking in Nepal’s Sikles Kapuche Lake region is becoming more popular among both domestic and foreign trekkers, despite its recent discovery.
Compared to other hiking routes in Nepal’s Annapurna region, this track is less populated and more isolated. You will visit villages like Sikles and Hugu during the trial, which is a draw for learning about the Gurung customs, traditions, and way of living there.
The three words that make up the name of the lake, Kaphuche, have distinct meanings. Here, the words “Ka” and “ice” denote snow or ice, “Phu” and “sliding down,” and “Che” and “settling or landing on the flat land.” “Lake formed by melting snow sliding down and settling on the flat land to form a lake” is the general meaning of the word “Kapuche.”
The hike to the Kapuche Lake starts in Pokhara and goes through the villages of Sikles, Hugu (Huwu), and Kapuche Lake. The trip then resumes along the same path as it did the days before, returning to Pokhara. The average amount of travel and hiking time needed to finish this Kapuche Glacier Lake Trek is as follows:
