Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu

After your arrival, the staff of NTA will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will then be transferred to your hotel. If you are not tired, then you are free to roam around the Thamel area. You can either go for a good rest after your flight or go for a night stroll around Thamel. The choice is upon you. In the evening, get back early as the NTA will be hosting a welcome dinner to you at your staying hotel.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today we will officially begin our trip. First and foremost, you will go for a sightseeing tour around the capital and visit many UNESCO world heritage sites on a private vehicle. You will be visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square where you will observe more than 500 years old Nepalese art and culture which will be a new experience for many travelers. Swayambhunath, which is also known as the Monkey Temple is a popular tourist destination that you will go. Pashupatinath (Hindus’ greatest temple) is another place you will explore today. It is the holy temple of Hindu’s and probably the most important site in Kathmandu for tourist to explore. Boudhanath, which is in a walking distance from Pashupatinath, is another important landmark for your visit. It is one of the largest stupas of South Asia and has a rich Tibetan Buddhist culture carved within. Today we reach the hotel and prepare ourselves for a long trekking adventure which will start from tomorrow.

Day 3 Kathmandu to Machha Khola (Drive)

Our journey starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Arughat with a private vehicle which will take us about 7 to 9 hours of drive. The first part of the journey will be smooth as we go through the highway and explore the river banks’ view. But, from Gorkha or Dhading, the path starts to get rough (there are two ways that go to Arughat) and you have to keep calm as it is usually a new experience for travelers to go for a hilly rough trail. We will stop to take some rest before continuing the journey further from the village of Arughat. The next stop for our drive today is at Soti Khola. We will change the vehicle as the path ahead is narrow. Soti Khola is approximately 13 kilometers away from Arughat and we will get there with a few hours of drive. Passing Sotikhola, we will drive through the hills path along the forest trails to reach the village of Machha Khola. Overnight stay will be in the best tea house in Machha khola.

Day 4 Machha Khola to Jagat

After breakfast, early morning, we will start our trek. We will trek across many twisting trails through the banks of Budhi Gandaki River. As you enter the forest trail, you will walk through different villages like the Gurung village of Khorla Beshi, which is a great place to explore the Gurung culture. After you walk for a few hours, you will arrive at a hot spring in Tatopani. We will rest for a while and then cross the Budhi Gandaki through the suspension bridge and climb up a staircase to reach Dovan. While walking through the forest trails, we must be careful of many Langur monkeys which fill our trails today. After we cross the west banks of the Budhi Gandaki gorge, we will be trekking through a small ridge and walk around the river banks to finally reach Jagat. The restricted region of our Manaslu circuit trek generally starts from Jagat.  Also, an hour before reaching Jagat; you will get a beautiful horizon view of cantilever bridge from Yaru Bagar (which will take 20 minutes to reach there. This cantilever bridge is 158 m long and is considered as the first of its kind in Nepal). Stay overnight at the best tea house with luxurious facilities in Jagat.

Day 5 Jagat to Chisapani

After breakfast, we will make our way through various landscapes and dense sub-tropical forests trails. After 40 minutes of walking time on the pathway to Salleri, you will have to cross a river where you will see the beautiful view of milky flow in the river. Before fall, you will be able to observe two hydro-powers (one new and one old) insight that produces electricity for the region. On the way, you will pass from Salleri to Sirdibas. Sirdibas is inhabited by local Gurung people so you can explore a rich cultural experience. Here the Siring Mountain (7239) will dominate the entire view. The trail will get a little wider and continue to be the same as the Ghatta Khola (River). After crossing the bridge and walking for about another 20 minutes, you will reach the village of Philim. Philim has different administrative offices of land revenue offices, police stations, and more. From Philim, we will trek along the forest path for some time to finally reach Chisapani. Stay overnight at the best tea house in Chisapani.

Day 6 Chisapani to Deng

After having our breakfast in Chisapani, we will trek on the path that leads towards Naykphedi and further to Pewa. Today, it will be a short trek for us and we will slowly walk along the forest trail observing the rhododendron forests and pristine nature atmosphere. In Pewa, we will pass along suspension bridges which offer a nice experience. From Pewa, Deng is only a 45 minutes’ walk. Before Deng, you will pass through the bamboo forests around the banks of the Deng Khola (River). Stay overnight at the best tea house in Deng.

Day 7 Deng to Namrung

Early morning, we will have our wonderful breakfast in Deng. Today is one of the culturally significant sections of our trekking adventure. First, you will have to cross a suspension bridge and head to Rana and Bihi Phedi. As you head west up the valley and pass along the trails through lush forests, alpine vegetation, and quaint villages, you can see white-faced monkeys who visit these villages to look for food. These villages are also famous for housing ethnic groups of the Manaslu region. From here onwards, the major peaks will start to appear in the distance. We will pass along the village of Prok which offers a beautiful view of Siringi Himal. Passing several Gompas along the way, you will find the trail shortening of forests trails. Now we enter into the high mountain valley.  We will climb a zigzag river trail to reach the village of Namrung. Stay overnight at the best tea house in Namrung.

Day 8 Namrung to Lho

After breakfast, we start our trek. We will observe the local culture and people of Nubri people. We will also explore the Tibet-influenced lifestyle of the local people and walk past several Mani walls, lush terraces and houses through Banjam. Then, our trail will enter through the rich rhododendron and oak forest. After we pass the trail, we will have to climb to Lihi then to Sho. As we move ahead in our trekking journey, we will start to notice the locals clad in traditional Tibetan dress will be a common sight. Walking for a few hours, we will start to notice some fine paintings in the Kani (gate arches) that we will pass before reaching the village of Sho. We will then walk along the rocky hill paths before finally arriving at Lho. On the way, we can also observe a monastery which is recognized as a great monastery in the region. Here, more than 200 monks study among whom, all are boys. From Lho, we will see the beautiful and mesmerizing views of Manaslu (8163m) and Manaslu North (7157m). Overnight stay will be at a teahouse in Lho.

Day 9 Lho to Sama Gaon

Today from Lho, we will head to Shyapla. It will take us about 2 hours to reach Shyapla from Lho. Sama Gaon is just within an hour reach so we will walk slowing enjoying the wonderful views around us. From Shyapla, you will get the panoramic view of the beautiful north Himalchuli, Nadi Chuli Manaslu, North Manaslu, Nike Peak, Saula Himal, and Siringi Himal. Yaks are common sights here. Sama Gaon is the principal village of the Nubri people and houses a large Gompa, shops, health post, heliport and telephone/Wi-Fi and is known to be the biggest village of the local people in the region. It is the popular place for commerce and trade as it is a major route to the Manaslu Base Camp. Stay overnight at the best lodge with the best services in Sama Gaon.

Day 10 Acclimatization Day: Side trip to either Pungyen Gompa, Manaslu Base Camp or Birendra Tal

Today is a rest day for us in order to acclimatize with the environment. You can sleep in and relax throughout the day. You can also enjoy an optional hiking trip. For a short hike, you can walk to the Pungyen Ghompa which rests on the east of the Nubri valley. It is a hike for some hours from the hilltop where you can have a wonderful view of Manaslu. You can also go to the Manaslu Base Camp which lies past the famous Birendra Tal. You will have to have a steady pace and walk slowly along the north of Manaslu glacier to reach the base camp which lies at the altitude of 4400m. If your body is tired due to all the trekking of past days, we recommend you to go for a short hiking to the Birendra Tal and get back to rest for the rest of the day.

Day 11 Sama Gong to Samdo

Early morning after having a good breakfast, we will head back on the trekking trail to Samdo. Samdo is a 3 hrs walk along a steep uphill (about 15 minutes) and around the flatlands. On the way, you will have beautiful views of Syaula Peak, Naike Peak, Manaslu, Himchuli, Larke peak, and Cho peak. The additional spark is added by the west and north-Himchuli that dominates our trail view today.  You will observe yak pastures, long Mani walls and cross the wooden bridge as you reach white Kani. After a few more hours of trekking, you reach the village of Samdo. Samdo is a small young village, at the height of 3800m. The place has the facility of electricity and it has its own micro Hydropower Project running in the area for many years. If you head a bit further and look ahead, you can see the main track that leads to Tibet. You can also observe the Larke La trail which lies on the left above the valley. Stay overnight in the best hotel in Samdo.

Day 12 Rest in Samdo (Acclimatization)

Today is another rest day of the Manaslu Circuit Luxury journey. The main reason for resting today is to get a good grasp of the altitude of Larke La trail. Tomorrow you will have to head to Dharmasala which will be a destination closest to the Larke La pass. So, to have a good walk we will hike to the Samdo hill and get back in a few hours. However, we highly recommend you to stay at the lodges and take a good rest with short walks around the village to prepare for tomorrow. Stay overnight at the best hotel in Samdo.

Day 13 Samdo to Dharmasala

Today is a short hiking day for us. Our journey will start in the morning with a downhill trek up to Budhi Gandaki River. Then we will cross through the river and again march upward through Larkya Bazaar and Valley of Salka Khola. We will head towards Dharmasala is not actually a lodge but an easy place to stay for a night with great accommodation services. It is 7 kilometers away and will take us for about 4 hours to reach there on normal days. The walk is at high altitude and can be sometimes difficult to climb. So we will walk at a slow pace and observe the amazing Himalayas around the trail today. We will also have a high chance to sightsee the rare blue sheep. This place is also known as Larke Phedi which lies on a rugged terrain of the Manaslu region so walk carefully. Stay overnight at a well-facilitated hotel in Dharmasala.

Day 14 Dharamasala to Larkye La Pass to Bimthang

Today is a long trekking day for us. We will have to trek to the highest point of the trek, the Larke (Larkye) La Pass at 5160 meters today. The trail is doable in all seasons whether there is snow or not in the trekking trails. So, we walk slowly and have a good uphill stroll enjoying the stunning views of Himjung (7126m) near Tibet, Kang Guru (6981m), and Annapurna II (7937m) around our trail. After crossing the pass, we will be amazed with beautiful stunning glacier views all around. Pongkar and Salpundanda are some of the famous glaciers which hold the Pongkar Tal in between, which is a must-see vision of the day. With around 3 hours of walk, we will reach Bhimtang and stay overnight there.

Day 15 Acclimatization Day in Bhimtang

After we have walked in higher altitude for the past few days, it is important for us to get familiar with the environment around, as we will be heading to lower altitudes. With the successful trip to Larke La Pass, we will not descend directly to the extreme lower altitude keeping the safety as number one priority. Today we will hike to the Pongkar Tal which lies in between the Pongkar and Salpundanda glacier. It will be a short hike of the day where we will be able to enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and glaciers and take beautiful memories with the camera. You can choose not to go hiking and rest at the tea house as well. Stay overnight at the same hotel in Bhimtang.

Day 16 Bhimtang to Tal

This is the final day of our trekking journey on the trails of the Manaslu region. Early morning after breakfast we will start the downhill travel. We will have to walk through the lush green forest trail which is filled with diverse flora and fauna. We will walk along the banks of Dudh Khola enjoying the river views. After we walk for some hours we reach Karche, our stop for lunch. In the next hour, the trail starts to become rough and uneven. We will walk slowly and head to the famous village of Gurung Goa. After this village, the trail will start to move along agricultural fields and forests of oak and rhododendron which offers a beautiful adventure in the forest. We will pass through the villages of Tilije and Dharapani and continue our trek to finally reach our destination to Tal. Stay overnight at the lodge in Tal.

Day 17 Tal to Pokhara

After a great trekking journey, it is now time for us to get out of the mountain and head to the city of Pokhara. We will take a drive from Tal to Besisahar and take a private vehicle to Pokhara.  It will be a short drive from Besisahar. We will enjoy a wonderful drive along the green hills and watch amazing views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre as you make your way to the city of lakes. After reaching Pokhara, you will be transferred to your hotel. With every facility available for you in the hotel enjoy a relaxing day and walk around the Lakeside area.

Day 18 Pokhara Sightseeing and flight back to Kathmandu

Today is the last day of your trip with us. After a good breakfast, you will go for a tour of Pokhara city. You will visit the Davis fall, Phewa Lake, International Mountaineering Museum, Mahendra cave, and more nearby spots. You will enjoy a good sightseeing today in Pokhara. In the evening, you will take a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After you reach Pokhara, the guide will drop you at your hotel.
