Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will pick you up when you arrive at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport and drive you to the hotel.

 

 

Day 2 Kathmandu- Nepalgunj by Flight

A 45-minute flight gets you from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. The town of Nepalgunj is situated in the Terai area, close to the Indian Border and the Bardia National Park. In the summer, it becomes very hot there, and in the winter, it gets very frigid.
Flight duration: 25–45 minutes
There are 25 lodges.
Views of the Terai region and Nepalgunj airport are the main draws.

Day 3 Fly Nepalgunj to Juphal and Trek to Dunai

Max Elevation: 2150 metres

We take a 30-minute flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal, the starting location of our journey, after arriving there. From there, we travel by foot via their nearby villages to Dunai. After almost four hours of walking beside the Bheri River and past a watermill, we eventually arrive in Dunai. Dunai is also referred to as the Dolpa capital. We’re going to spend the night there.
The flight to Juphal took thirty minutes.
Walking distance: 4 hours in Dunai
Lunch in Dunai or Juphal? Juphal is higher than 2,000 metres.
Easy to Juphal and intermediate to Dunai in terms of difficulty

The primary draws are the stunning nearby villages, rivers, and historic watermill.

Day 4 Trek From Dunai to Chepka

Max Elevation: 2670 metres

We now leave Dunai behind and travel to Chhepka. The trail dips through Dunai’s streets and over the Bheri River Bridge. We continue our walk through the riverbed to Sulighat and then to the checkpoint of Shey Phoksundo National Park. From there, we walk and ascend beside the stony trail. After travelling through the steaming forest to get to the settlement of Chepka, where we will stay, we enjoy the views of waterfalls and rich greenery. Spend the night there.

Day 5 Trek From Chepka to Sanduwa

We set off to travel to Sanduwa after Chepka. This trip could prove to be a little difficult now. After leaving Chepka, you will travel past enormous oak, maple, pine, walnut, and birch trees for the first few hours. You will have to cross numerous uphill and downhill sections of the walk where a small, steep ravine runs. At last, you will reach Sanduwa.

The main draw is the enormous oak, pine, maple, walnut, and birch trees that may be found going up and down hills and in some challenging locations.

Day 6 Trek From Sanduwa to Phoksundo Lake

Leaving Sanduwa behind, we make our way quickly downhill to Phoksundo Lake, passing through birch-filled forests all the way to the upper reaches of the Phoksundo Khola. We continue to trek at Phoksundo Lake after crossing a bridge. We then walk through Phoksundo Lake’s closure point.

Day 7 Explore Phoksundo Lake

We survey the surrounding area of Phoksundo Lake every morning after breakfast. The deepest lake in Nepal, Phoksundo, is a stunning freshwater lake with a blue hue. We’ll also go to the adjacent village to witness the splendour of the natural world. Spend the night there and have some fun.

Day 8 Trek From Phoksundo to Sangta

Following our lovely visit to Phoksunda Lake, we set out to travel to Sangta. After 30 minutes of climbing along the steep trail, we arrive at the top of the hill, where the final glimpse of Phoksundo Lake is available. After walking through a few villages and along rivers, we eventually arrived at the Sangta.

Day 9 Trek From Sangta to Juphal

We are trekking today along the stony Bheri River, with stunning scenery as our backdrop. We finally made it to the Juphal after a day of walking, where we spent the night.

Day 10 Juphal to Nepalgunj (by flight) to Kathmandu

We take an early morning flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj because it is unlikely that we would be able to travel in the afternoon because of the severe winds. We take another flight back to Kathmandu after arriving at Nepalgunj. We arrange for your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11 Departure from Kathmandu

You will be sent off at Tribhuvan International Airport by our delegates around three hours prior to your scheduled flight. And with this, our official partnership for this journey comes to an end.

Group Size

There will be one porter per two hikers and one leader for the Phoksundo Lake trek. This plan is made to ensure that the expedition goes off without a hitch. It guarantees that, should anyone in the group become unwell, the tour will proceed according to schedule. This hike can be led by RT for any size group. However, ten people is considered the ideal group size. But, RT can also set this up if your group numbers more than ten.
