You’ll receive a warm Nepalese welcome and be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Kathmandu’s finest cultural restaurants, where you will be introduced to the country’s cuisine. This dinner will also provide an opportunity to meet your fellow travelers and discuss the upcoming trek. You will spend the night at a hotel in Kathmandu.
On the second day, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. The day begins with a visit to Bhaktapur, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. Later, you will explore Boudhanath, the largest stupa in South Asia. The Boudha area is a visual feast, with colorful thangkas, jewelry, hand-woven carpets, and khukuri knives sold in the surrounding stalls. You will also visit Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples, and Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. In the evening, you will meet your trek guide and, if needed, be guided to the market for personal equipment. You will spend another night at your hotel in Kathmandu.
You will take an early morning flight to Pokhara on the third day. Upon arrival, representatives will meet you at the airport and drive you to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek. From Nayapul, the trail leads steeply up the hill towards Dampus, offering fantastic views of the Himalayas. After crossing the Modi River at Birethanti, the trail ascends steeply for about 4-5 hours to Ghandruk. Along the way, you will encounter rivers, streams, and suspension bridges, with views of wild honeybee hives on rocky cliffs and local villagers. Upon arrival in Ghandruk, you can explore the Gurung settlement, visit the local museum, and see Buddhist monasteries. You will spend the night at a lodge in Ghandruk.
After breakfast and some time to explore Ghandruk village, you will begin your journey to Pothana. This part of the trek is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent for about an hour to Deurali (2100m) through oak and mixed forests. The trail offers splendid views of Manaslu, Annapurna ranges, and Mardi Himal, passing through the village of Landrung. After leaving Deurali, you will trek steeply downwards to reach Pothana via Tolka. The lodges in Pothana are situated in thick forests and offer panoramic Himalayan views. You will spend the night at a lodge in Pothana.
On the fifth day, after breakfast, you will trek back to Pokhara. The trail from Pothana to Pokhara is mostly on the ridge of a hill, passing through green forests and local villages. The descent to Phedi offers shining views of the Himalayas. At Phedi, a vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to Pokhara. After checking into your hotel and resting, you can explore Pokhara, including boating on Fewa Lake. You will spend the night at a hotel in Pokhara.
After breakfast, you will finish any remaining sightseeing or adventure activities in Pokhara before flying back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will check into your hotel and have free time to shop or explore Thamel. On the final day of your tour, you will have some free time until your flight.
