Itinerary

Day 1 travel by air from Lhasa to Kathmandu

You can first get a good night’s sleep after checking in. Furthermore, you have the freedom to explore the city if you so choose. But only bring a light pack; don’t bring a lot of items. In the interim, increase your water intake. Adjusting for the high elevation is quite beneficial. Visit Lhasa for one night.

Day 2 Monastery Samye

We’ll head for Samye Monastery on the second day of our visit. From Lhasa, it is 123.1 km away. The monastery’s architecture blended Indian, Tibetan, and Chinese design elements. The format was designed with the ideal world contained in the ancient writings of Buddhism in mind. It is Tibet’s primary Buddhist specialty monastery. It is one of the most influential monasteries in Tibet, with a history spanning more than 1,200 years. There was a debate over Buddhism in this monastery between the Chinese and the ancient Indian schools.

Day 3 Drive till Gyantse

The third-largest city in Tibet, Gyantse, entices all kinds of travelers. It is also one of the most well-known travel sites in Tibet, ranking just after Lhasa, Mount Everest, and Namtso. Gyantse is renowned for its fantastic culture, bizarre history, and vibrant scene. The most fascinating place in Gyantse to visit is Palcho Monastery. This religious community is home to the well-known Kumbum. If you have time, you should try climbing to the top of the massive Gyantse Dzong for a panoramic view of Gyantse Old Town itself.

Day 4 Drive till Xigatse

Xigatse City, the second-biggest city in Tibet, is located about 300 kilometers away from Lhasa. ‘Fertile land’ is what the word Xigatse means. Perched at an elevation of 3,500 meters above sea level, Xigatse City regularly welcomes the greatest number of tourists and adventurers in all of Tibet. Presumably, this is in relation to the city’s location and amenities for visitors. The magnificent city has 600 years of history. Although the city is located at a slightly higher altitude, the summers are beautiful and somewhat rainy. Xigatse City experiences incredibly harsh winters. You will need to be somewhat prepared to visit this city in the winter because of the chilly, dry breezes. It is also important financially to visit the city of Xigatse.

Day 5 Drive till Lhasa

Take the Northern Highway to Lhasa, where you can explore the Norbulingka Palace. Tibet Autonomous Region’s largest artificial greenery enclosure is Norbulingka Palace, located on the western outskirts of the city of Lhasa. Norbulingka, which means “Park of Treasure” in Tibetan, is a nearby Potala Palace that served as the Dalai Lamas’ late spring royal palace for conducting religious rituals and handling administrative matters. It was included in the list of World Heritage Sites in 2001 as a prominent piece from the Potala Palace’s collection.

Day 6 Touring the Lhasa area

We will visit several Buddhist monasteries today, such as Sera Monastery, one of the most well-preserved monasteries in Tibet, with a few hundred priests living and studying within its brightly colored roofs and whitewashed walls. We will visit the Jokhang Temple after lunch. It is conceivably the most dedicated place of prayer in Tibet, and a procession of obedient Tibetans passes through the complex every day. All around the Jokhang is the Barkhor, the main market of Lhasa, a maze of narrow cobblestone streets.

Day 7 Touring the Lhasa area

We are going to visit the Potala Palace, which is in charge of the entire city of Lhasa, early in the day. Stunning building housing the Dalai Lama’s private quarters, excellent suites, and several important sanctuaries. The site of the current castle dates back to the seventeenth century, but a royal residence dates back to the fifth or sixth century. The Drepung Monastery, which was founded in the fourteenth century and was once the largest on the globe with a population of almost 10,000 priests, will be our next stop after lunch. Although there are only a few hundred remaining now, there is still a lot of excitement because the majority of the population was left intact during the Cultural Revolution.

Day 8 Travel by plane from Lhasa to Kathmandu

Blessed old Lhasa is the ruler of this far-off land of culture, wide open spaces, plated-roofed sanctuaries, and unpredictable improvements in religious groups. There’s a sense of mystery and magic waiting for you, along with majestic views of the Himalayas, which also include Mount Everest, visible from the Tibetan side.

Day 9 Day of Departure from Kathmandu

Today is the last day of our journey in Nepal, and our representative will drop you off at the airport.
See you shortly!

The tradition of sky burial stands out as one of the most peculiar customs that the Tibetans continue to follow. This is a custom of interment in which a human corpse is sliced into small pieces and placed atop a peak, typically in a distant mountain region, to be seen by birds. Given that vultures are believed to be fortunate messengers who carry the spirit into the heavens, the body is frequently donated to them. Although this enigmatic tradition can seem callous to an outside observer, Tibetans have been deeply believing in this rite for millennia. Also regarded as the most courteous people are Tibetans. When speaking with elderly, those in positions of authority, or even regular people who share their age or rank, they are exceedingly courteous.

  • There are numerous cultural sights that you will come across during the Tibet Cultural Tour. It is customary for the locals to offer their guests a scarf known as "Khata," which stands for compassion and hospitality. The Khata is regarded as a very adaptable gift that may be utilized for every celebration, including birthday parties, weddings, graduations, and many more. You can witness some of the most notable Tibetan cultural arts, such as dance and theater, on our Tibet Cultural Tour. In essence, Tibetan culture is fascinating and breathtaking. Tibetans' distinctive culture is seen in their everyday lives as well as in their traditional ceremonies, architecture, clothing, and archery. • It takes at least a week or fifteen days from Nepal to obtain the necessary permits and visas for Tibet for this cultural tour, as well as for the entire traveling experience in Tibet. You have enough opportunity to learn about the evolution of Tibetan human civilization and the Yarlung Tsangpo valley. Through a ship voyage over the Tsangpo waterway and an investigation of the Yarlung Tsangpo valley, we arrive at Samye, the most established religious community that shares a location with the Redcap school. We proceed to Yumbhulakhang, the principal fortress used by a Tibetan monarch, via a fertile valley for agriculture and the graves of the Tibetan emperors dating back to the seventh century. From there, we continue southward by the turquoise lake, Yamdrok Tso, to Gyangtse and Shigatse. After departing from Shigatse, we travel north via the scenic but rugged migrant farming known as Zenith, where we stop to explore the enchanted city of Lhasa. The true highlights of our trip were the largest Drepung monastery, Barkhor Street, Norbulingka Palace, Potala Palace, Kumbum Pagoda, and Tashilumpo Monastery. The amazing snow-covered peaks and unique overland vistas are further highlights of the excursion.

Trip Overview

Tibet Heritage Tour

With a land area of 2.5 million square kilometers, Tibet is located in the middle of Asia. Six million Tibetans live in the physical homeland of the world’s tallest mountains, wide desert plains, and large river valleys. It is 13,000 feet above sea level on average. From 1949 until now, Tibet has been made up of the following three provinces: U-Tsang (which, along with western Kham, is currently referred to by China as the Tibet Autonomous Region); Kham (which has been largely incorporated into the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Qinghai); and Amdo (which is currently divided by China into the provinces of Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan).

Tibet Heritage

China founded the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) in 1965 for administrative purposes; it now makes up less than half of historic Tibet. It’s crucial to understand that when Chinese authorities and media refer to “Tibet,” they exclusively mean the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR). The three provinces mentioned above, or the region that was customarily known as Tibet prior to the 1949–50 invasion, are what Tibetans refer to when they refer to the region as Tibet.

Most people agree that Tibet has been under the control of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) since 1959 and that China and Tibet were independent before the Yuan period (1271–1368). It’s debatable how Tibet and China interacted throughout that time.
